FAQ

We know that when it comes to designing and building a custom shed, you may have a lot of questions—everything from materials and design options to permits, timelines, and pricing. Over the years, we’ve answered countless inquiries from customers just like you, and we’ve compiled the most common ones here to help streamline your decision-making process. This page is designed to provide quick, clear answers to many of the questions we receive on a routine basis, so you can feel confident and informed during every step of the process.
Do you build on skids? We build all of our sheds on solid cement blocks. The purpose of this is to keep the treated lumber that are used for the floor joists elevated so they do not come in contact with the ground. It also allows us to level your shed perfectly, even if your ground is not completely level. |
Do you move sheds?Custom shed pros builds all of our sheds on site, so we do not have the equipment to move existing sheds.
Do you offer payment plans? We do not require any down payment before your shed is built, but the full amount is due the day that we build your shed. We do not offer long-term payment plans. |
Do I need to have a gravel pad prepared before you come to build? No, we can build on any kind of ground as long as it is mostly level. |
Can I choose a custom color paint or do I have to choose one of the colors on your website? We can color match any paint color that you want. Just let us know the color name, and we will match it! |
How long does it take you to build my shed?We build almost all of our sheds in one day!
Do I need a permit to build a shed?Permit requirements vary by city and county, and typically depend on the size and placement of the shed. Confirm your actual threshold — many WA/ID jurisdictions don't require a permit under 200 sq ft, but this varies by county.
How much does a custom shed cost?Pricing depends on size, siding, and any upgrades you choose, but every shed includes premium materials as standard with no hidden fees. Visit our Pricing page for a full breakdown, or design your shed online for an instant quote.
Can you build a shed on a sloped or uneven yard?Yes — because we build on-site using leveled concrete block footings rather than a fixed skid base, we can accommodate yards that aren't perfectly level.
What's the difference between a custom-built shed and a prefab shed?Unlike prefab sheds that are built off-site and delivered on a truck, we construct every shed directly on your property. This means no size restrictions from narrow gates or fencing, no crane required, and a shed built to perfectly fit your space.
Do you handle HOA approval or provide plans/drawings?No, obtaining HOA approval is the customer's responsibility. We recommend submitting a letter of intent to your HOA and receiving written authorization before we begin construction.
Is a deposit required to start my shed order? No deposit is required to begin — payment is due in full on the day your shed is built.
What areas do you serve? We build custom sheds throughout the Inland Northwest, including Spokane, Spokane Valley, Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum, Liberty Lake, and Deer Park.
